The Trampas SS21 Capsule Collection

Finnish footwear brand Karhu is rich in athletic heritage and innovative design, utilising its sporting history and archive to build a classic casual footwear offering that is synonymous with expertise, quality and craftsmanship.

The Karhu Trampas first appeared in the 1960s as a running shoe designed with a focus on more regular training needs in mind. The introduction of design details including a more padded heel collar and better arch support, paved the way for the Trampas to be worn by both Finnish Olympians and everyday folks that appreciated its durability and casual style.

Fast forward to 2021, and after a successful re-introduction in 2019 via collaborations with Amsterdam based skate label Pop Trading Company and Seattle based retailer LIKELIHOOD, the Karhu Trampas returns with four new iterations of the shoe constructed from cow suede uppers and luxe leather linings, alongside an accompanying capsule collection of apparel inspired by the casual nature of the original Trampas footwear design.

With graphics inspired by Karhu’s archive, the collection features a tonal colour palette and high quality material executions. Unstructured wool caps, heavy weight raglan sleeve crew neck sweats, shorts and a classic coach jacket adorned with chenille applique branding appear alongside terry cloth crew socks, short sleeve t-shirts and a handy tote bag.

Where some brands fight for their space via noise and disruption, the Trampas SS21 collection stands out for its authenticity: a quality that has been at the brand’s core for over 100 years.
